“We are thrilled to report that home sales in Williamson County have started off 2014 with a bang. The median home price was the highest January on record and closings were up more than 20 percent,” said Marti Veto, executive vice president of the Williamson County Association of Realtors, in a press release announcing the statistics for the month.
The median price is a midpoint with the same number of sales above and below the figure. It is not an average, which can be driven up or down by exceptional transactions.
The total number of January closings was the highest since 2008, and the inventory during the month was at the lowest level since January 2006, the association reported.
